Avengers: Age of Ultron Sneak Peak

Via Bloody Disgusting. I am very much looking forward to the second movie in the Avengers franchise. I watched the initial teaser Marvel released in October and was floored - it was everything I wanted it to be and so much more. However subsequently I have sworn off any trailers that follow. I mean, the teaser was almost three minutes long, for fook's sake; I detest the amount of exposure the current trend of five minute trailers gives. My favorite thing is to go into a movie - especially one as anticipated as this - as blind as possible. So what got me to watch this?

Elizabeth Olsen.

Ms. Olsen has been one of my favorite actresses since Martha Marcy May Marlene. She has spectacular talent.

But that's enough! No more until May 1st.

Rob Zombie Talks 31

One more I'm referencing from Bloody Disgusting today. Interesting news on the new Zombie movie 31, including a description that sounds awesome! Remember Chris Claremont's Uncanny X-Men, Arcade's Murder World? Well...

Go here to read about more about 31, watch and listen to a whole lot more information on the project and, if it suits your fancy, back it!

Banned Exorcist Trailer from 1973 (via Bloody Disgusting)

Major props to the always awesome Bloody Disgusting for posting this. To me Friedkin's The Exorcist is still the scariest movie ever made. Interestingly enough though last year I purchased the "Version you've never seen before" DVD and it seemed like the editing was waaaaay different, to the point that the same palpable menace did not settle over the room as I watched it. Now, this could have been because I had several friends over for the viewing, although the viewing previous to that one saw myself and at least three friends sit in the dark and watch the film. That particular viewing I remember being too scared to even get up and answer the call of nature, for a time. I'll have to A and B the versions at some point.

Palms - Patagonia

I've seen Palms name bandied about on various music sites recently but hadn't paid attention at all really. Now I see Chino from the Deftones and a bunch of the guys from Isis are in it. I'm not familiar with Isis at all. I know this is probably a major overlook on my part, they've been on my list for some time, I just haven't gotten to them yet. But I've always dug Chino, and especially after Koi No Yokan being my album of the year last year, and a record I still ADORE, Moreno's name made Palms shoot to the top of my list. Thanks again to bloodydisgusting and go below for a listen to another Moreno side project that I LOVE, Team Sleep.

Fantastic Horror Short: Don't Move

Watch this. Seriously, come back here when you have time, or go to Bloody Disgusting here when you've got ten minutes or so to spare. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

Thanks to Bloody Disgusting for turning me on to this. Wicked. Directed by Anthony Melton, via Bloody Cuts films, whose website is filled with shorts that I'm now itching to watch. Nice job guys!

The Robert Rodriguez-penned Curandero

I'd never heard of this until the trailer popped up after something I watched recently on bloody disgusting. From the Mind of Robert Rodriguez obviously was a great way to set-up the appropriately sparse images of this trailer for an apparently "lost" film that premiered at some festivals back in 2005 but has been in limbo since. It finally received VOD and DVD release recently and definitely looks worth a watch.

Brendon Cronenberg's Antiviral

When the heck is this coming out on DVD? I've been reading about it since it hit the festival circuit in the back half of 2012. Bloody Disgusting had words on it here but I'm not seeing much in the way of an American release.

He clearly is his father's son.
